About the role
Are you a law student looking for an internship where you help build the legal system that cases will live in?
Levano is an intelligent practice management system for Danish law firms. We cut administration so lawyers can focus on the law. The product is built by lawyers, for lawyers, and is run by NextLab Ventures A/S, a venture studio in Aarhus that builds, owns and operates AI-powered SaaS products.
You join a small legal team in a legaltech startup, where compliance, confidentiality, product law and research land in a real product used by law firms. You work close to product and management, and your legal work has to make sense to lawyers and to the people building the software. That bridge is exactly what legaltech needs.
What you will do
- Professional conduct and confidentiality: research and notes on client confidentiality, client accounts and the Danish Bar and Law Society framework for SaaS in law firms
- GDPR and data processing: DPAs, sub-processors, retention, access models and least privilege in a product holding sensitive data
- Product law: terms, SLA, AI liability, sourcing in legal research, and what has to be documented when AI is part of a legal system
- Legal research for the product: Danish case law, legislation and preparatory works as input to features, FAQs, security and compliance copy
- Pilot and market: collect legal questions from demos and pilot firms and turn them into concrete requirements or answers
- Competitor and regulation scan: a short, sharp view of what other legaltech players promise, and where the rules are moving
What we expect from you
- Master's student in law (Aarhus University or equivalent)
- Strong written Danish: flawless phrasing, structure and precision. English is a plus
- Detail-oriented, and still able to keep the overview when several threads run at once
- Curious about legaltech, AI and where law meets product
- Analytically solid and structured in how you work
What you get during the internship
You get a 30-day plan, a weekly 1:1 with your mentor and access to what you need in order to deliver. The work is designed to fit a project-based internship, including the material for your internship report and seminar.
- Real legal responsibility in a legaltech startup under NextLab Ventures, not a generic assistant internship
- Insight into how you build a legal system that has to stand on confidentiality, GDPR and the trust of the profession
- Material and cases you can use in your report, your seminar and your career, whether you end up in a law firm, in-house or in tech
