Software engineering intern

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious software engineering intern who wants to help build the digital products of the future. At NextLab Ventures you will not spend months on busywork — you build real products from day one.

As an intern you join a small, dynamic team where your contribution matters. You get hands-on experience with modern technologies and learn how to build scalable applications from the ground up.

What you will do

• Build web applications with Laravel and Svelte
• Work with databases, APIs and cloud infrastructure
• Implement AI features and automations
• Take part in code reviews and agile delivery
• Contribute across the full product cycle

Our stack

• Backend: Laravel (PHP), Python
• Frontend: Svelte 5, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
• Database: MySQL, Redis
• Infrastructure: Laravel Forge, DigitalOcean
• AI: OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude

Requirements

• Student on a relevant degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or similar)
• Basic programming knowledge (any language)
• Curious and eager to learn
• Able to work independently and take initiative
• Comfortable communicating in Danish and English

Nice to have

• Experience with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with PHP or Python
• Experience with Git and version control
• Personal projects or a GitHub profile
• Interest in AI and automation
